So says Reuters. But - spokesperson for PIA issued this bizarre statement: We are discipling the pilot and crew, but the report of people standing for the flight couldn't happen. Hmmmmm. Why then are they being disciplined? ;)

What was common on some carriers was to 'downgrade' a child (with seat) to an infant (sit on mum's lap) to get more people on board.

Problem was this was usually with the support of the crew as they needed to get their family-members (holding standby tickets) on the flights.

Not only PIA but a lot of other carriers did this as well.
