Standing in a Que the other day with a Qatar crew and the Captain said to me: "whats happening with you lot" Flying a 380 to DOH? are you just showing off? and what's happened to your 330's, where have they gone? Why are you flying 777's and 380's on your short haul routes?
Ummm is said that's a good question, why?
After a moment thought i said: "Well it's because EK management are just geniuses and all you others have got it horribly wrong".:ugh:

I thought EK will be ordering either 787s or A350s for the short and medium haul markets soon? What happened to that rumour?

Everyone would wish for that, except the rocket scientists who deferred the 350 order to get more dugongs and now won't backtrack in order not to lose face!

And the so called decision on the 787/350 buy the end of 2016 ! Not going to happen. As glofish said " welcome to the ME" save face at all cost "

QR picking up UAE premium traffic by offering cheaper fares to UAE residents. Probably EK planners mistook those numbers for heavy demand in premium traffic and started a A380.
