I posted this in History and Nostalgia but got no response.
Just wondering if anyone can shed any light on what looks like part of helicopter blade painted with 'Op. Downward 25th August - 15th October 2001 Eglin AFB, Florida'. I think this was from the work up for the introduction of the EPWII into RAF service and it bears the names Sgt Glen Manning, Cpl Dick Lindsay, JT Andy Rose and SAC 'Stub' Beart. It turned up at a local auction and apparently came from RAF Marham.

There's a number on the part - 96214-837743-4.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

FP, as it seems to be an EPW II trial it is a racing certainty that it is part of an EPW II

@Tiger Mate(below), thanks foir that, hadn't quite figured which bit.

From the detail it would appear to be from the first one.

Paveway II deployable fin - not a helicopter blade.

I suspect that "Op Downward" is a local nickname for the event as it would formally be Trial something or other.
