There was thread on QR ID 90 priority which was closed down last week , I'm not sure why PPRUNE closed the thread.

Does anyone know what is the priority for QR ID 90?

is it base on seniority or ranking ? for example do pilots have higher priority than flight attendants?

It's based on seniority. If a flight attendant has a more senior staff number than a captain, then the flight attendant has priority. A pilot may be entitled to business class and a flight attendant might not be, but if there is a business seat left and no economy then the flight attendant will still get on before the pilot. They'll be upgrading a regular passenger instead.

Is it still through that family members travelling without enployee wirh higher seniority have lower priority than other staff Travelling ?

Morel, I believe a spouse has the same seniority as the employee when travelling alone. So a spouse with higher seniority gets on before an actual employee with lower seniority. However, other family members (certainly i.e. Parents of the employee) will be lower down the rank than an actual employee, even if higher staff number.

APU i'm with you on this one.

My understanding is that priority works by job grade then seniority. For a start cabin crew are not allowed to buy business class tickets but flight crew are. What's the point in allowing a person of a particular job grade to buy a business class ticket to be bumped off by a fellow staff member who bought an economy class ticket (unless for business reasons) - regardless of the seniority, you bought a different ticket, if complimentary it's different. Also I'd like to see a senior Training Capt who has to get back to Doha for work being bumped off by a less senior Cabin crew... you may say the rules are the rules... but as I say I understand the priority is job grade then seniority.

In reality as far as I'm concerned... yes there are circumstances where you may be forced to take a flight where bookings are 'tight' but I'd always check the load and try and avoid it.., also if you're flight deck you can take the jumpseat anyway.

I was also told people on the privilege pass only retain the same 'status' as the employee if with them. However there is another 'sub-category'... Annual Ticket which immediate family members do get where the rules change with or without the employee.

A simple call or visit to Staff Travel can clarify all this.

Jumpseats are available - Commander's discretion. It's in the OM-A. It's only really to be used as a backup if the flight is full.

Factual info is available via the staff travel website (employee access) or by phoning or going to see staff travel. Nothing's available publicly (that I know of).

Are jumpseats actually available in QR to Flight Crew? How does that work in practice?

Is there somewhere I can get factual information about staff travel and how it works in QR, including how it works for QR employees with other airlines?
