Does anyone actually have any evidence the 35 year old requirement has come in?
When the 340 captains were told they'd be right seat 380, that email was sent around Whatsapp very quickly.
The guys claiming they've been taken off courses, when pushed, have said it's actually their mates or friends of friends.
Anyone have anything solid?

There have also been mumblings of this being a regulatory requirement. If so, how does this affect all other A6 operators?

AlanPardew

Dont want mumblings.

Until someone can produce proof that these guys have been taken off their upgrade course due to their age then I'll assume it's that lad stirring again.

While we're at it

From anyone who is directly affected / was at the roadshows?

Is the age 35 restriction for A380 and 777?

Will guys currently with a command be downgraded if they are under 35?

Go roster search and look for Removed From roster by training. Or check my ppst called "this is the end". Guys have been stopped pending LRC at the end of the command course due to age requiremement being considered and they don't know what to do with them. I was taken off my course due to the new rules of the stick time on 380, like many colleagues also from 330 and even some DEFO 380.

AP , wrong!

It's true , know a guy that was rr before line release check...
They say this is from way UP, So he has no idea what will happen next...

But then again , ZERO comm from the "managers" ,
Wait for it ....2017 dec s on 380 ...

Alan - you're wrong. Use a little ingenuity on the roster search and all will be revealed. Currently 4 FOs & one captain. Ask around your 380 colleagues - it's happening,

Or write to J-low & Henrietta and ask.

AlanPardew

filion you're saying an existing line captain is being demoted due to age?

I did write to JA, he replied the next day saying there's lots being looked at.

From what I've been told the age requirement was something TC wanted but wasn't implemented and that was decided last week. There has been two FO's with upgrade training put on hold and there's confusion as to why.

I know the 330/340 skippers are being moved to the right seat, is that what you mean filion when you say 4 FO's and 1 Captain?

fliion

I'm saying four FOs so far have been removed from course & one new Capt on the 380 who contacted above in order to be proactive in the event his currency on 334 expires before he can secure employment at a 330 operator in the LHS - has been put in limbo as to outcome of current events.

Don't get confused with the stick hour requirement - there's guys who have had their upgrade courses suspended/cancelled because they don't have the 2000hr stick time. This is nothing to do with their age.

The age thing is being quoted by office staff as one of the requirements for NAC by the office wallys as of yesterday. No FCI, so that would be against the OMA right? It would seem its going to be for all fleets.
Above info gained from email from fleet to 380 FO.

Fair enough, a bit of clarity from top would help.

Exactly. The silence when peoples livelihoods are being threatened is beyond disgusting.

They are VERY clear. They clearly don't give a flying Fץ₩ about the staff.

Any local 380 capts under age 35 ?
That might change things , if indeed there was going to be an age requirement .

Don't be oblivious, it is happening at this very moment. Just search RRT 380 FOs and you will see it for yourself, first hand info about guys going to the 3rd floor to inquire about this and being shot down, open doors??? Yeah right.

First hand info about my good friend being affected by this and all of his course mates sub 35, this is just before the release to line check...

wonder why DOB was removed from seniority list...

X-BleedOpen
6th Oct 2016, 01:11
Based on seniority of August, and joining date until then, 69 380 FOs under age of 35 on 380 and 132 on 777. That is 200 pilots without counting the ones who joined in september and the UAE Nationals.

FL3: 'wonder why DOB was removed from seniority list...'

Thats a great observation!

Maybe the whole 35yrs bs plan was already on the way before the 521 'issue'.
Great conspiracy...
So what else was taken away from the seniority list/foip which can be used against us.

Many many TRE's left the last few months, EK is in the begging phase for them to stay another few months against their own terms...

EK should invent a bonus for every one. First one after 3 years and then every 3 years after that. Going from maybe 25.000 AED to 100.000 after 12 years.
This ofcourse on top of the provident fund...

Oh and have at least 15 days off a month, with at least 5 days consecutive at least once in that period.

Sorry guys this is my 3 monthly wishlist I print in the hope the Costa tigers will give a sh*t.

Awesome! Be a sh*t kicker SO for 10 years then maybe one day get a 737 Command in Perth for your 50th Birthday present from the almighty Sky God Illuminati... :}:}:}

Would gladly be a sh*t kicker SO and back in Australia 10x more so than a widebody captain in the Middle East..it's called getting your life back!

So very true. Defining yourself so much by the airplane you fly and the position you hold is sad.
