Any rumors about the B737 MAX order? It seems the issues with A320 NEO are not solved yet.

Can't see them actually ordering the MAX. Just typical steam/media pressure from Mr. Baker.

So, this evening's order confirmed as:

Boeing 787-9; (30 confirmed orders)
Boeing 777-300ER; (10 confirmed orders)
Boeing 737-MAX. (LOI for 60 frames)

A bit of a kick-in-the-teeth for the A320NEO line, given that Qatar was - at one stage - to be the launch customer of the type.

Looking forward to see the 789 and the 73M in Qatar colours.

LOI for 737?. Shall we start the betting now on the exact date that the big guy starts complaining about the 737 and miraculously gets a better deal at Airbus after a few months of insults?

Calling the shots is what you can do if a product is below spec or delivered late. PW and Airbus could be avoided this, or at least they could have had a stronger hand, if they hadn't been late and made simple errors. Rotor bow in this day and age? All these years of making cabins and can't make them to schedule?

I think that they're probably ordering the wrong aircraft though. A320neo will be the better aircraft, and the A350 is probably more popular with passengers.

All 'splained by the "non commercial" order alongside, I would have thought......
