Heaviest Empty Weight 777's

After having a few recent trip on the Jet Metal, namely to BKK & GRU, are the Jet 777's the highest empty weight 777's out there currently flying?

Also these were the early 777's which weren't fitted with the engine modification for takeoff/landings, again performance wise, are these the worst performing 777's out there?

From personal experience, we noticed a several ton difference in fuel burn in comparison to our newer 777's on the same route.

What are their DOWs?

I certainly noticed new EK 777 300ERS were as much as three tonnes lighter than the original examples.

Coming in at around 205T, Granite Galley and First generation suites (which are about a ton each)

In comparison they're around 5-8 ton more than the equivalent in the fleet.

The HEAVY EK ones were like 179!!!!!

And your LIGHT ones are still in the mid 190s?

I heard the 8 suites were closer to 2,000kgs EACH!!!!

Another penny wise, pound foolish decision. When they re-configured the fleet to 3-4-3 in Y, they chose not to remove the suites, to save money. Of course nobody took into account the weight of those suites being flown around for the past few years.

Furthermore, whoever selected the MTOW from the Boeing -300ER order guide, sure did the airline another HUGE favor by going with a 337t MTOW....making them real attractive to the used the market, now that they have put them up for sale...

Only Aeroflot did better with a 313t MTOW :D

I think it's just a paperwork exercise to get them to the full 351K MTOW.

Absolutely,

However, a very costly one. The four Jet aircraft on dry lease to ****** did undergo this excercise.

All 4 leased ones had the 351T MTOW with them.

2 have been returned in much better condition they came in.

B-HKD- yup they should of ripped the suited out, load for the Frisco and NYC with us were quiet in F, practically lugging 16T of dead weight around, but hey, who am I to complain! The things were dreadful in comparison to ours! Heavy, poor performance and under used!!!
