View Full Version : Any H145T2/EC145T2 or H175/EC175 pilots or mechanics here?

I work for a small flight simulation software / hardware company called Sim Innovations. We are a mixture of real pilots (both fixed wing and rotor wing) and software engineers.
We are working on new hardware, the Helionix MFD. To start the project, we need some rough dimensions (we will get more detailed dimensions later on). Is there someone who can supply me with these numbers? It doesn't have to be spot on, a few mm tolerance is okay.

Not a pilot or mech on the H145/H175, but the published figures for D and C are 6 inches and 8 inches, respectively, inferring that A and B are 8 inches and 10 inches, respectively. This in turn infers that E is 1 inch (to the edge of the screen).
I/C
C and D are respectively 29,7 mm x 21 mm (an A4 sheet).
I will give you A, B and E coming Friday.

Then you have all Thursday to update yourselve about the difference mm and cm.
And the difference between A4 and A5
6x8 inch relates to A5

No worries :) I didn't even notice that it was mm, A4 size is a pretty familiar size... Now starts the search for a suitable LCD display.

Checking the messages again... Is it 6x8 inch (A5) or is it 297x210mm (A4)?
I confirm A4. I positionned an A4 page over the screen and it fits perfectly.
Or was it an A4 folllllded in two (A5). I'll confirm tomorrow.

Judging from the dimensions of other devices and comparing them with the Helionix display, it seems more like A5. We'll see what you come up with :)

I wanted to give an update on this. Thanks to your help we have been able to create a prototype setup. We plan to finish it next year, including the instrument coding.

It looks really good. I'm a retired pilot and I love developing helicopters and gauges for fsx and p3d. It's not easy, specially if you have only the flight manuals to do it.
This is "my" EC225 pfd. Some way similar to the H175 pfd, I guess.

Looks quite different from the EC175/H175 and others as far as I know. It's in landscape, all other Helionix screens are in portret.
The problem we're challenging now is to get the correct layout and dimensions of the graphics. We are building the H145 version 2 software, but I have a H175 version 3 software document, which is quite different. A challenge apart from it being a very very complex instrument.
Anyone around who has a H145 version 2 manual? :O
