My understanding is that to instruct for reward at PPL level a Class 2 medical will suffice though for CPL a Class 1 is required. Is this correct?

What medical does a PPL instructor need if there is no reward paid? Do they need, a CAA class 2 or will a LAPL suffice?
I've reviewed CAP804 in depth and I cant see where the medical requirements for instructors are. The closest i can find is the implication an instructor must hold a PPL and PPLs must hold a class 2. NPPL and LAPL pilots cannot exercise instructor ratings.
