On the Beeb Norfolk website The RAF has confirmed that reports of a crash involving a Tornado jet from RAF Marham are false, and that it was carrying out a routine air safety drill involving emergency services from the base.

All schools avoided, no housing estate hit, crew receiving treatment and a petition of thanks from the local community.........

PS really glad that nothing more serious than an exercise......

Even though the brave pilots flew the Tornado helicopter away from the bus full of school children in this exercise, this could have killed everyone in the entire population in local area had it been real. It would also have killed local migrants and would probably have damaged a nearby mosque that is 100 miles away, and that would have also made it a racist, islamaphobic incident.

On the basis that this time we all got lucky - no one died and no one got offended - I think we should campaign for Marham to be shut down and for the RAF to do all its flying off of aircraft carriers out at sea.

Below: The Tornado crash would have killed thousands. Tests like this one, showing a Hercules transporter landing on a school, have been used to prove that flying is a menace to society.

Ewan,

You forgot the bus load of nuns, platoon of Blue Badge holders and that's not a Hercules, it's a Chinook. ;-)
