It has recently come to our attention that fellow ppruner and fast jet pilot Wg Cdr CK Sharma is in a bit of a bother in his home country.
He has been (wrongly?) arrested and thrown into an indian jail for taking part in a protest against the unfair pension structure for retired military personnel. He is 75 years of age and has medical issues such as diabetes which, apparently, is not being considered.
It is considered opinion that it is a bogus case. The fascist right wing Indian government is using this tactic, amongst others, to break the ex servicemen's union, and their very reasonable demands. He is deemed to be a good man who is doing what he feels is right, and standing up for the rights of his brethen.
For those of you that have Sky, check channel 511, NDTV, they mention it regularly.
