It's really funny, because they still have not made the PAK FA

When the Indian press puts the RCS in the same league as the Shornet, You could say they still need to design a 5th gen.
Unless it's masterful deception? There is a 5th gen black programme they are going to wheel out...surprise
Wait a minute. Doesn't one generation have to be mature enough to beget the next generation before that new generation can exist? In other words, how is a 6th Generation possible when the 5th generation is still in its infancy? And in the case of the Russians, the 5th generation is still embryonic?
The word "soon" in the title of the article was incorrectly added, making the whole issue confusing, indeed. While doing a conceptual design (mentioned in the Russian original interview) is a routine procedure. It's a regular job of research people after the previous concept has already materialised. And exiting "embryonic samples", as KenV put it, are test flying pretty well. Here is a not so much biased comparison of several 5th-gen aircraft from an Australian writer:

I hafta wonder about the "not so much biased comparison" when the article starts with these gems:
A looming shift in the balance of air power that threatens to eliminate the air superiority lead the West has held since World War II.
An increasingly cash-strapped United States may be finding itself in a similar position to that of the United Kingdom befoe World War II — a waning world power in deep denial of its fading might.
All its air-defence eggs, along with those of most of its allies — are now in the one F-35 Lightning II basket. It’s too big to fail. There are no fallback options.
Where did the author dig up those "unbiased" gems?
KenV,
Sorry, I was not clear. I only meant the lines about the Russian a/c were not completely wrong.
