Has anyone heard updates on the Trekker (skid-equipped 109), please share.
It was announced 2 years ago and few details since.

Is it testing?
Which MFD/PFD system is being used?
3 or 4 Axis AP?

Thanks

They have one on the floor here at Heli Expo.

FH/AW said tonight the first flight was imminent, certification towards end of 2016.

If it's just a skid equipped 109 you're after, there are a few in Australia...the Koala. Designated AW119.

Apologies if I've missed something though.

I guess he wants that second engine too...

....why? Twin engines seem unlucky round here at the moment.

Before the can of worms meets the can opener and AnFi pops up I did ask if it was a 'skid only' thing....but in future I shall use Goggle more. :O

TwoStep,
Thanks for that. Any details on the autopilot or avionics panel?

I heard (rumour only) that they ditched the G1000 and fitted the same system as the 169/189 (Collins) with 3 screens for IFR and 2 screens for VFR.

Maybe someone at HAI can get some photos and confirm?

Nooby,

From AgustaWestland rebrands SW-4 for civil market (https://www.flightglobal.com/news/articles/heli-expo-agustawestland-rebrands-sw-4-for-civil-ma-422545/)

The glass cockpit will be provided by Genesys Aerosystems and is common to the larger AW109 Trekker, its skid-equipped light twin.
So, yes, it looks like the G1000H is gone.

God that SW-4 is ugly. I looked at one up close in Philly once. :yuk:

Looks ok to me. A bit like a 350 but 5 seats and RR donk.

Probably better answered over on the SW-4 (http://www.pprune.org/rotorheads/215373-pzl-sw4.html) thread (or the other (http://www.pprune.org/rotorheads/328899-pzl-swidnik-sw-4-a.html) SW-4 thread) (or the other (http://www.pprune.org/rotorheads/449650-news-sw-4-a.html) one... ad nauseum), but the latest guidance given by Finmeccanica is "less than $2 million." (http://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/business-aviation/2016-02-29/finmeccanica-stressing-lighter-product-offerings)

Personally I always thought it looked like a Schweizer 330 on steroids. Interesting that the Allison C30 is now being offered as an "option" for the aircraft - back in 2003 the plan was that the growth version would get the P&WC PW200 (https://www.flightglobal.com/news/articles/pzl-swidnik-set-to-re-engine-sw-4-helicopter-168489/).

Back on topic, the Trekker first flight announcement failed to mention that Finmeccanica is now claiming that "more than 20 Trekkers were sold in 2015." (http://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/business-aviation/2016-02-29/finmeccanica-stressing-lighter-product-offerings) The schedule has, however, slipped somewhat from the original goal of certification in late 2014 and deliveries in early 2015 stated at the time of its launch (https://www.flightglobal.com/news/articles/heli-expo-agustawestland-unveils-new-aw109-trekker-396364).

I was hoping we'd see them sooner than 2017. Should be an excellent platform for SPIFR EMS.

During PZL times that was $1,2 m for VFR unit, leather interior...

But the 119 with wheels would be a fast, capable and efficient thing.
(without all the aggravation, expense, inefficiency, unreliability and weight of carrying the pointless spare *****)

Have there been a lot of engine failures in A109s?

AnFl, the goal is to have IFR certification, which seems to be a hurdle fir the 119 at this time.

Are you saying they are trying to obtain IFR Cert for 119?
Or you're referring to the hudle of the arbitrary link of ifr to duplication of engines?
