Just heard that Terry passed away on Saturday.

As Steve Birchall said....Terry was "a real gent".

I think the last time I saw Terry was when he was doing a base inspection in Bangladesh as Safety Officer for Okanagan.

On the odd occasions that I visited head office in YVR in those days, he was always very sociable and welcoming.

Another legend falls off the perch

I last saw Terry WM about 10 years ago. He had been ill for about 3 years, sadly. I knew him since 1974, he was a gentleman. Terry was awarded the QGM for his part in a 1975 rescue. Farewell old friend.

Thanks for letting us know, Peter. I also knew Terry from the Okie days and afterwards when he was consulting and writing. I'll hoist a scotch in his memory.

Sad news. A legend and a gentleman indeed. Met him in Aberdeen in the mid-1970s.

Sad news indeed. Terry was a really nice man who I had the pleasure of meeting and working with and for when I was flying S58Ts (as was he) for Bristow in Sumburgh in 1975. He was also an excellent pilot who won the Queen's Gallantry Medal for his role as Captain of the Bristow S61 which carried out the rescue from the Beryl SPM on 5 December 1975.
He had an interesting and varied life and the world will be a poorer place for his passing.
Sadly, he suffered from dementia for the last few years of his life, but was well looked after at the Greenwoods Complex Care Facility on Salt Spring Island, BC.

Sad to hear about Terry. Reality is that when you get to my age, many of our associates are falling off the perch

RIP
