It is recounted that CIGS Monty visited Uncle Joe early-1946 and they fell to reminiscence. Monty proudly boasted that he had cleared the minefields in front of elAlamein using sniffer dogs shipped there for that very job. UJ sniffed and said "we used old soldiers".
