I've had advice from various sources, and I'm still not sure:

Which is the better way of handling the controls in a tail slide?

1. Firmly hold all the flying controls neutral.

or;

2. Put the stick & rudder into the corners and hold them there.

I haven't experienced one yet, but I'm sure I will!

Your advice please.

The ONLY advice I will give is get some quality training from an aerobatics instructor and do exactly what he says.

Once you are cleared solo in the aeroplane and confident with the tail slide you may want to experiment with positive or negative (canopy down first) slides.

Don't try it on your own first time!

Even if you really botch a stall turn, you'll have to work very hard to tail slide it properly if you close the power.

Stik:

Do you tailslide solo?

How do you go about performing one?

Thanks for the advice stick&c

As you inferred, I'm more concerned about the unintentional tail slide but I'll try some intentional ones with instructor on board.
