I am looking for any aircrew who served with 29 in Zambia please. I have seen one thread here but would like to make contact with aircrew.

There are some reports of Rhodesian and RAF jets flying together up the Zambezi River but I have never been able to establish if this was true or see any photographic evidence.

Although the Squadron had to report to the rebels in Salisbury for ATC instructions it would seem they always kept their distance. The only incidence of some connection was the defection of two RAF ground crew.

Gellis,
If you haven't tried before, contact 29 Squadron Association, you should get them on the web.

Thank you for a confirming a rumour I heard in Zambia where I worked 68=70. So it is true about the RAF units being guided from Salisbury ATC!
BTW- my daughter loved playing on the Javelin airframe in an Ndola park. Is it still there I wonder?
