Lovely picture to remind me......pretty sure the speed board doesn't belong on the gear lever though and were the control yolk centres re made with metal or are they just printed? Oh, and I think the rudder needs centring. Still a lovely office to have worked in.........:ok:

Like the old Airmed 62 headsets……..:ok: Nice and comfortable and neatly foldable to put away in your nav bag. ;-)

I love the way the RAF put a white line around the primary flight instruments just in case you need to be reminded what is important!

Yes, they were a B stores item, i.e exchange, but a lot of us on the line had our own sets as the parts were all C store items, i.e use and bin, so we ordered a set of C store parts and assembled them ourselves :p

No need to be snide about the RAF! This was a manufacturer's design feature of some aircraft, notably the classic 747s (of which the RAF had precisely none):

Find it hard to believe it was a manufacturer's design feature.

I don't think the Classic came from the factory that way. I suspect
some clever chief pilot thought it was a good idea.

I always thought it was a bit ridiculous as well.

I thought it made the console look rather tidy.

How did anyone ever know where they were though? Where's the ND?
