Well I guess it was only a matter of time.

You treat someone the way MK's been treated by local management and there comes a time when you call it a day.:=

What a super nice guy too!!!:ok:

Any other info out there or is that about the size of it?

He wa a very nice guy. Sad to hear.

He is a heck of an asset to EK. Really sad to see him go. Super nice guy. When we start losing people like him and RH it makes you wonder why EK is letting all the good ones leave. His absence will be greatly felt. I am sure he will be snapped up quickly elsewhere.

A true loss for EK. Maybe he realised that EK needs a scapegoat in the near future.

More likely that he would not bow to pressure to lower standards. This is the canary in the coal mine........

Sorry to see him go. He's definitely one of the good guys in that place...

Sadly, It was inevitable. It is an impossible job if not given the tools, resources and necessary support from higher up. Can't imagine they can get anyone of similar quality into that position without substantive changes to the package on offer.

The hole EK is digging itself will just continue to get deeper and deeper.

Another organization will soon have a valuable addition to its staff in MK. Good luck to him.

As an employee of EK, that has a family to support this news has me worried,

This basically says to me that the powers that be will not budge on the current crewing crisis forcing MK to take the decision to leave instead.

What are these F*$%&*g idiots doing???????

I have a bad feeling that the hole is already too deep.

It sounds like the 'make it happen in recruitment' ultimatum was rejected by a good man with professional standards. Its another confirmation that EK are opting for lower hours/standards over basically improving T&C's to attract more talent. They are out of touch and out of control. Good look to MK in the future.

The mask has been torn off quicker than i expected. Lowering the standard of applicants is one thing (give them a chance), accepting anything is another. Kudos to MK for not putting his credentials to below acceptable standards.
Let's wait for some guys with a backbone in training to resign, not bowing to wave through only numbers, not quality.

Just about reflects Emiratisation in management.

You rather have those with a backbone in training to resign or rather train the new joiners properly if possible and if not, sort them out?
I'll go for the latter...

The company appears to be prepared to accept a higher level of Training failures, just to increase the number of 'acceptable' candidates.

Unfortunately those 'training failures' are people, who will most probably have uprooted families and resigned from secure jobs to start a new life in Dubai.

It will be them that have to pick up the pieces and try to rebuild a career elsewhere if they are unsuccessful.........does the Company care?

Good luck MK

So... Who will fill the post? Maybe MT? Then again, who would want it???

You can't get leave, but if you fail to use it after 2 years, it disappears. Sounds fair to me.....not.

What a shame, total meltdown. Such a true gentleman and personally responsible for probably bringing 1/2 the pilots to EK!! He added depth, understanding and dimension to the puff, fluff and hype. Meanwhile conditions continue to deteriorate: - summer leave for 2016 cancelled! - HR update, leave now expires if unused after 2 years - forced economy downgrade for annual leave ticket - new swap system awards reserve in lieu of days off - new bidding system allows for 5 preferences and only 1 award! - 2 Captains and 1 First Officer on 3 men crew - First Officer upgrades frozen till March 2016 - TRI courses cancelled until March 2016 - Korean, China Southern, Hainan, Jet2, Turkish all giving roadshows - ATPL only recruits - new trainable standard for simulator assessment, even if crashes?! Do black holes always give birth to a star or is it the other way around?!

2016 Summer Leave cancelled? Have not heard that.

Expiring leave? You mean it just goes away? Or s it paid out?

The beatings will continue until morale improves! 😳

Summer leave cancelled 2016? Rumour or fact? Seriously...........
Leave expires? I doubt it if you haven't been able to use it...
Forced economy downgrade? Sadly yes on two class flights... Upgrade J only if space available... That is a breach of contract.
Reserve in lieu of days off? WHERE is that written?
Preferences and awards? No idea. Need to see what my November roster looks like...
2 Captains and 1 F/O? Used to do that on the EK201/202 back in 2004... Not new.
No idea about commands or TRI courses.
Roadshows? Good to see that there is demand. Personally China/Asia not for me...
ATPL only recruits? And??? Everyone has to start somewhere... Maybe some feel that they were born with 10,000 wide-body jet hours:hmm::rolleyes:
Crash the sim? I doubt you'll be assessed as suitable...

Stow the hysteria:ugh:

Where is the HR update on leave being lost after 2 years? I couldn't find it. Thanks.

I am sure many like myself have heard the rumours during previous months of MK leaving EK but for one reason or another, he was staying for the time being. Whether any of those rumours were true is another debate altogether.

What is more important is that this sends a clear message that the pressure from the top to compromise on the quality of the candidate has not relented. The scales are being forcibly tipped to favour quantity over quality. Kudos to MK for standing up for what he feels is appropriate. :ok:

Hook apparently it was slipped in a little while ago, without telling anyone.
Have a look and see for yourself.

WK

As I've stated before, he should be renamed 'utterrubbishbaby'. Far more appropriate given his wind up posts. The first 2 points are complete tosh, the third comes with a huge caveat, the last point just laughable. Those in-between may or may not have credibility. As for those particular airlines recruiting, you point is.............?

I don't know if this rumour will turn out to be true or not but discussing this guy's career here and naming him and speculating publicly on his motivations and experiences is pretty poor form. You guys should be ashamed.

Btw upgrade courses have been assigned for November and not March...

10th Oct 2015, 10:59
Really? Which fleet is that on? I have mates of mine on both 380 and 777 who have interviewed in the summer but have had emails recently to say not a sniff of an upgrade until the new financial year.
Changed their minds already?!!

Btw upgrade courses have been assigned for November and not March...

Mr Good Cat

Yes they have now brought the 777 courses back close to schedule, thankfully.

"TCAS still says there is no problem with recruitment......"

Well, actually he didn't really say that at the training meeting - what he said was "I am not worried about recruitment or morale".... and why would he be? He's out of here on the 25th November...!!! He wasn't lying - see what he did there?
