Just looking at some Robbies on a well known German Helicopter sales website and it says re an R22 it has for sale..... "is a perfect candidate for a N-registration or a OE-Registration, where only the MR Blades and the TR Blades need to be having calendar and hours remaining. The other components are only running on hours and not on calendar!"

Is this right????

I don't think so.

Maybe he means an "Italian" ultralight ? but N and OE reg doesn't make sense then.

Either way - €32k for an 89 R22 running in widow-maker mode doesn't make sense either. Get it overhauled!! :=

N-Reg option has been discussed at length, with regards to airworthiness limitations. Depending on which FSDO you speak to.

The Austrian option, well you will need to speak to him, I believe he has an approval from the Austrian Authority to run past the 12 year mark for the airframe, but still adhering to the 12 year life of the blades. Has a fairly indepth annual inspection, frames inspected etc.

The main problem would be finding an engineer in the UK that would be happy to sign off on it if it lived here. The maintenance manual is very clear about what has to happen at 12 years and also at 2,200. Anybody saying anything different from the book is blowing smoke up your arse.

If it was a Human...it would qualify for its State Pension, not many Pensioner's can run 100yds......and flesh is more resilient than steel and aloominium even at age..! :=:=
