Hey mates, question for all the AS350 drivers... :confused::confused:

Do you fly both B3e and B33 dual hyd? I am now flying the B3e Dual Hyd version and sincerely I donīt feel the same (I feel the controls too much smooth for me obviously you can use friction in cyclic and collective..., but I feel it specially on the pedals) and prefer the single hyd. But the "pro" is the increase MTOW from 2250kg to 2370kg due to the dual hyd.

And what about the EC130T2... the disadvantage is the lower OGE ceiling versus AS350B3e ...

What do you think, please?

thanks!!!:ok::ok:

B33 never heard of that species :* biggest plus point for dual hydraulics is no more servo transperancy or jack stall :D if you have trouble with the peddles; try barefoot :uhoh:

dual hydraulics add a fair bit of weight so your empty weight will be less versus single hydraulics
If you are moving alot of internal weight the increase is good but I would prefer the lower empty weight to get an increase in the external loads.

Hey nuthin I wouldn't call an extra 12kgs a fair bit??? That is my lunch & survival pack & a few tinnies snuck in for good measure :=

As VF has stated the dual HYD on the B3 and 130 are minimal. Ive a good few hours on the 350 series but ive only flown the 130 with dual pumps in a previous life.

The extra pump which is gear driven off the MRG, resovoir (with fluid ;) ) and hyd lines would equate to the 12 odd kg. In the scheme of things its 5 mins of fuel.:D

Newbie question, but does dual hyd also mean dual hyd actuators? Or is it only the pumps and lines that are duplicated?

Hi DonQuixote23

Single actuator but dual body, with two gears one with bevel and the other with a belt..., one reservoir but divided, and two pair of lines, but yes its only around 30 kg more...

Thanks VF, nuthin and Belly_tank for your reply
