Hi folks,

Maybe they wanted to receive a brand new H145 (EC145T2 in the real life) sooner than scheduled ... :}

Where's SiloeSid (surely not asleep?) when you need answers to such avoidable incidents? I'm sure he can translate the German manuals.

Or at least tie the blades down !

Thank you tistisnot, as it happens at 15:41 yesterday afternoon I was asleep, besides it doesn't appear to be on a 'Helilift' now does it! :ugh:

Having said that though, just for you, clearly some wind limitation has been exceeded ;)

Well seen the guys operating the machine did'nt own it or it
would have been inside!

Was there an available hangar with space that the machine could have been put into ?

Now, had there been a doctor or two sitting the front seats, that might never have happened..

Nice one Art, but look at it this way.
If it was on a Helilift, which it wasn't, and the two doctors were sat in the front while it was being moved, how would the insurance people see the situation?

Anyway, I don't see how having two people in the front would have stopped the wind twisting the airframe on the platform causing it to fall off

However, if it was on a Helilift, then the sidewind limitation would have meant that the ac would/should have been moved in order for it not to be exceeded :ok:

That may be so Art, but that meme theory only works if it is on the same thread

So where's the unimportant detail

It is normally me that retires to the hanger when a storm is brewing / hits. EG Saturday just gone, when Mrs 500 found out that I had spent £ 2000 on a new amp and speakers !!!!!

True, so thanks for mentioning "Helilift" twice. You have neatly linked the two threads. :D

Yes, but others might sleep!

Helihenry,
Actually, an EC145T2 / H145T2 is a MB BK117 D-2 in real life!

Hello Rigga,

where I live, I've never heard someone saying "I fly an MB BK 117-D2" so we don't have the same view of what is real life, nothing of annormal about it. :ok:

But you have to know that in all the real lifes, the H145T2 doesn't exist, AH is only selling the H145 and the EC145 :)

If you insist in being pedantic Art, it happened way before then, so you actually fulfil your own picture

Anyway, back to the thread, yet another avoidable incident.

Anyway, back to the thread, yet another avoidable incident.

Yes, it's always advisable to put your helicopter in a hangar, rather than leave it out where it might get damaged.

Here's another avoidable incident from a while back:

Nice one Art, of course in your eyes totally avoidable, after all we should have kept her in a hangar shouldn't we;

Attack on Police Helicopter- Woodvale (http://www.southportforums.com/southport/news_list/Second_attack_on_Police_Helicopter__Woodvale-50428367.htm)

Silsoe Sid, so you are saying that was actually your helicopter?

That is a big coincidence but really quite funny; I simply put the two words "damaged helicopter" in Google search, out of interest. That picture came up third on the list of images, on the first page (try it).

So why did you not keep your helicopter in a hangar? Surely, criminals will always see them as a soft target. If they will even break into a locked hangar, as in your second example, surely leaving one out in the open at night is highly inadvisable! Do you see this as an "avoidable incident" too? :p

It rather puts petty criticism about the correct use of helilift in the shade. ;)

Art, there's no need to make things up in order to refer to a different incident, just refer to it for goodness sake.

On that particular night, I believe that the the crew had just landed, refuelled and were in the office doing the paperwork prior to imminently deploying on another task, therefore hangared or not, in this case is totally irrelevant.

I'm glad that you find arson so funny; so on a more serious note, you might like to know there are some out there that are in the frame of mind that if POLA was in a hangar on that night, the outcome would have been a lot worse.

By the way, why do you think that air ambulance helicopters are left outside whenever they are on duty :ugh:

Bit of a difference between a weather forecast and a security state

Don't be ridiculous. I never find arson funny.

What is funny that you just can't help jumping in with both feet and giving away so much! :p

You say it is better to let arsonists set fire to an aircraft outside because it would more dangerous inside? What sort of obtuse logic you have!

Put your own house in order before criticising other professionals.

The security forecast is that police helicopters are always in danger from the criminal element.

Come on guys, no one picked up the deliberate mistake yet? Clearly the experiment that shows that you only see what you want to when looking for a reply, worked :ok:

I didnt want to edit the post for fear of again being accused of changing a post

Sid, sorry for the delay, I had to deal with some local paramedics who called in here tonight.

But yes, you've done it again, I can recognise precisely who you are now. Your recent selfie looks just like the one in the force article about your unit, although you do look slightly better there, looks like make up was involved.

Didn't you search for "damaged helicopter" on Google? Your slightly scorched helicopter really is there, nothing made up.

Yes, I probably did spot your deliberate mistake. You mentioned the wrong registration (unless you let them set fire to G-POLA already). Don't lose any sleep over that.

Take care out there, mind your toes when you put the aircraft away for the night and don't forget, always have a fire engine handy when parked outside. :ok:
