Apparently a light twin has just crashed on approach to runway 25 at CYWG. 6 people on board. A/C is said to be a navajo. It apparently landed on Logan Ave. It hit a van and a flatbed truck but landed just short of a strip-mall. There are survivors. Status unknown.

WINNIPEG -- At least six people were injured when a light plane making an emergency approach to Winnipeg International Airport crashed in a busy intersection.

The twin-engine Piper Navaho slammed into cars and trucks when it hit the ground about 9:30 a.m. (CDT).

One member of the emergency response team who rushed to the scene says two of the injured were in critical condition.

Winnipeg city police constable Bob Johnson says the plane was carrying six passengers and the pilot.

Johnson says the pilot had notified the airport that there was a problem.

He says the plane was on final approach when it crashed.

Johnson says no one on the ground was seriously hurt.

The plane was owned by Keystone Airlines.

Weren't they the same outfit that put one into the woods ( I think it's the Assiniboine Forest) about two years ago? I never did hear a final cause on that one.

I heard all 6 passengers were American, do I smell a lawsuit? Bad news for Keystone. :(
