Relevant to group interests. Sure looks like a majestic jet.

And now they're using early model F-16s. Why am I suddenly beginning to feel old?:{

They might sell us a few if asked nicely. Just to tide us over.

(Oh dear, I forgot - we've got no pilots either). :{

They are (currently) using late model F-16A and early production F-16Cs that have not been in DM too long

Martin. You only begin to feel old when you come across airframes you've flown sitting in museums. I know; I've seen a few.

There are two 'NULLO' QF-4 flights planned out of Tyndall AFB next week, the jets won't return, which suggests live warhead testing rather than just ballistic shots. That will leave just 3 QF-4's at Tyndall, these will then transfer to Holloman AFB (to join the 22 already there) for ultimate demise sometime during 2016, that will then be the end of the QF-4 drone programme.

And I presume the popular QF-4 demos they do at a few airshows each year. Too bad.

Pretty soon we will have to go to Iran to see any fly, but they may not appreciate folks with long lenses and serial number logs books.....:}

Doesn't the Collins Foundation fly an F-4D?

There's a museum in southern California that's restoring a Navy rhino with the intent of flying it as well.

There does seem to be a number of Iranian Spotters out there. Sometimes they catch F-4s at Tehran International.

OH
MY
GOD!

The F-4 Phantom and TA-4J Skyhawk FLIGHT TRAINING PROGRAM takes place at the Collings Foundation’s Houston, Texas facility. Each participant will take part in academic sessions on the aircraft, which will include presentation safety procedures, ejection seat training and cockpit orientation, before donning a Nomex flight-suit and strapping into one of the most powerful civilian operated fighters in the world. Flights will be personally tailored to each student’s interests and capabilities. Flights last approximately 40 minutes in duration depending on fuel burn.
F-4 Phantom: $12,500
TA-4J Skyhawk: $8,000
50% deposit required on sign-up.

My bucket list just got a new addition :ok:
