Correction to first post, appears to involve a MV-22, not a "CV".

US Marines use the MV, US Air Force CV. A subtle, but important distinction.

Hawaii News Now has some actual footage of the crash - about 44 seconds in to the video report by Allyson Blair.

Doesn't look like there was any fire before the impact. And the aircraft seems not to be obscured in a dust cloud.

Defense-Aerospace has a good selection of media reports, including about how the Japanese are not keen on MV-22s continuing to operate in Okinawa.

For every 100,000 flight hours, the Osprey has had 3.2 mishaps involving loss of life or damage exceeding $2 million, Marine spokesman Capt. Ty Balzer said in an email. That compares with a rate of 2.98 per 100,000 flight hours for the CH-46 Sea Knight helicopters the Ospreys are replacing. Yes we can get into a pingpong match, but that in itself is a statement which part of a longer one. I also believe there was a qualifier on the end of that which puts it in context.

All metrics are useless unless the context precise means of compilation are taken into account, or known.

Indeed. Comparing the accident rate for an aircraft at the end of a 50 year "bath tub" curve with one relatively near the beginning of its operational life is not a necessarily meaningful exercise. But then statistics aren't usually quoted to inform are they?
