Hi all,

Just checking to see if working as a contract ferry pilot for aircraft sales companies is classed at aerial work and requires and AOC?

This would be if your a commercial licence holder and being paid to deliver the aircraft to the new owners on behalf of the aircraft sales company.

Any clarification would be appreciated as if they need an AOC and don't have it i wont fly for them!

A ferry flight is not carrying fare paying passengers or revenue generating freight, therefore I would see a ferry flight as a private flight not public transport flight. Hence I see no reason why an AOC is needed.

What he said, every ferry I have ever done is as a private flight. Ferries have been either part 91 under FAA, for N registered planes or standard private flights for EU registered planes.
In the four years I have been doing private ferries, no such thing as an AOC.

Typically the ferries are for a leasing companies who does not have an AOC or a private owner, again no AOC.
