Thread going Here (http://www.pprune.org/rotorheads/338189-cnn-report-nine-people-presumed-dead-helicopter-crash-california.html)

There is more to this whole crash than will ever be known. It has thrown the fire world into turmoil over the whole "public use" issue. Many people knew that weight numbers were never accurate. In just the last few years there have been many changes in the definitions of "equipped weight", "operational weight", "empty weight" and then there is the actual weight of the aircraft and load when it leaves the ground.

Then the Jury found GE liable and awarded damages in a lawsuit.

jury awards 70 million (http://wildfiretoday.com/2012/03/27/jury-awards-70-million-for-helicopter-crash-on-iron-complex-fire/)

RIP to those that did not make it, (As most know--I was involved in the clean up operations):

Okanagan Helicopters Ltd (a Canadian company) purchased this aircraft new as a "Mark 1 1/2". We subsequently upgraded her to a full Mark 2.

I flew her for many thousands of hours as CF-OKP, mostly in the Canadian Arctic.

She served us faithfully for many years, ... then she was sold to Carson.

Such a sad end to a great aircraft.
