Arrived at YMMB after this happened, a witness told me that the Warrior seemed to be having engine trouble and looked to be trying to put it down inside the field.

Could have been far worse, apparently the 172 had a short amount of time to try and move out of the way, probably what prevented fatalities.

Hit home for me a bit as i've flown VH-TXH (The MFS Warrior) a few times as I did my PPL-MECIR training at MFS.

A rough running engine. Why would you land on the shortest runway with possible downwind. Surely a close low level circuit to the duty runway would have been more appropriate. If oil pressure or manifold pressure were dropping then you would possibly expect imminent engine failure. Easy for those not in the situation but there is no substitute for experience.

Yes.... indeed Majorca.

Why?

Why?

Why do I live in hope?

Why do I live in hope, grasping that slippery straw of optimism and as hard as I try improving myself I know one thing.

I will never be as good as you :{

you will be even better, Compylot, given the experience.........don't give up hope.

I guess if you block off the intake the MP drops for a bit, but when the engine fails MP usually rises to that of QNH.

Just sayin……….

I heard it had a turbine conversion, was Smithy's recovered missing aircraft reconstructed and was used for chemtrail spraying!

A low level circuit....You're joking right...

Yeah, what's altitude ever done for anyone with a suspect engine? :E
Fly a low level circuit, that'd be the coolest!
