A bit of levelling is not before time, is it?....at least it's being improved and it seems, a new, additional hangar is planned.

Since time immemorial Barton has been leveled, rolled, drained, leveled, drained, rolled.

But it's an ex-night soil dumping site on a peat bog. It ain't ever going to be a smooth flat well-drained airfield.

KLM realised that as as soon as it opened, and on KLM's inaugural visit their Captain Smirnoff told Manchester Corporation that his airline wasn't ever going there again.

So Ringway was opened instead.
