Sadly there is a deadline of 1700 Friday 27th February for any issues to be raised by email so not much time left

The original plan was to use green field land on the outskirts of Chesterton and this has been the case for a couple of years.Cotswold District Council Planners are very enthusiastic about the Chesterton Site.

If you would like to make a comment on this subject, your support would be greatly appreciated, you can air your views to the CDC Forward Planners at [email protected]

You could include your support for the Chesterton site and give reasons against the Kemble proposal.

Those of us who live near Cirencester are not enamoured of either Chesterton or Kemble proposal. The transport infrastructure on that side of town has already reached capacity in the rush hour and there is no capacity in drainage, water, gas of electricity supply.

So any major housing development in that area is fraught with difficulties both HMG and the district council would like to ignore.

There is a strong case for more industrial development at Kemble but the whole planning system seems to be focussed on building high density housing which will turn a small market town on the edge of the Cotswold AONB into a sort of mini Swindon.

Basically the local plans in Cotswold District are a mess.

Agreed.

To lose Kemble Airfield would be a disaster, no just for aviators but for the locals. Loss of jobs, transport hub, tourism, recreation all would be lost.

Total madness.

Half of Kemble airfield sits in Wiltshire, so do not lose site of the fact that North Wilts DC will have to be involved in, and agree to, any development of the airfield.

ISTR this all came up about ten years ago and nothing happened.

Agreed, and whatever, it will take years for them to decide. Not that I think it will ever happen.
