SoS for defence appears from wherever he has been hiding making comments as if we were a Nation worth listening too. 77 days to go until the election. Is he working towards an announcement?

Tssk! isn't democracy tedious, having to bow to public will and all that. The sooner we can kick out all these lacklustre civvies and place control of the nation under firm military hands the better!

Stop trying to divert attention from yourself Sycamore. The last time I saw you, you were behind the potted plants on the top floor of the Gurhka Museum in Winchester and sporting a beard - the colour, however, was significantly greyer than that shown above.

Furthermore, I seem to recall that your 'bling' is more upmarket!

800ish mill going on type 26 announced today. 300 mill to Marham and 430 mill to Portsmouth announced in the last few days. Money being spent is getting larger by the press release. Are we building to a climax?

He He , I said climax!

Come again?

I don't know what they will pull out, BUT the only thing that should be put in a bag is balls..... Ed Balls, it should then be ballasted well, tied tightly and thrown off a Channel ferry mid stream..

Cool, no doubt BAe will be dusting off the Nimrod MRA 4 drawings and rubbing out the name.

The type 26 announcement was short on detail but somewhere in the small print someone mentioned "3 ships"

someway from a one-for-one replacement level of 13 ships

"someone mentioned 3 ships"

Announcement referred to long lead items for the first three ships of Class so nothing too strange about that. The agreement with BAe was to retain a Sovereign capacity to build complex surface warships and never envisaged all being ordered and built at the same. With only one yard left we couldn't do that anyway!

Media on Saturday said the SoS has been told to clear all future speeches with #10 - Dave was NOT happy about his intervention...................
