How to get into that dream airline job?

Greetings fellow aviators! i am 21 years of age and currently occupy the right seat of a B1900 and a B300 what is the best way of getting into an airline?

You are already in a dream position. Many young guys and older guys who are looking for a job would dream about your seat.

I would be more then glad to fly anything. Of course under proper T&C's.

If you're sitting in the RHS of a twin turboprop, with a company that pays you well and treats you right, then you are actually already living the dream, you just don't know it yet.

There's nothing wrong with aiming higher. The OP hasn't complained about his/her job or acted ungrateful at all, seems like they're just gathering information to further their career.

jajajja it's because in this forum there are only the people that are looking for information about pilot training (lots of modulars) , and on the other hand there are the ones that have failed through the path.

Aviation is like everything else! I know a lot of lawyers, doctors... that are in a poor conditions because they don't have enough expirence. We are in the 21st century. We are paying the type rating like business managers are paying for a MBA.

You asked how to get into that 'dream airline job'. Clarify please, what is the 'dream' role to you? There are many types of airline role and we may all have a different idea of what we consider the top job, this is sometimes proportional to the job from which we are coming.

You then need to follow a formula which is relatively simple to understand but requires emotional resilience and tenacity.

Using your commercial knowledge, work out who is likely to recruit and when. If you have no idea you need to work out generic recruitment trends, for example, charters recruit in xxxx, low costs tend to recruit on this cycle etc. Take a look at how recruitment from some airlines influences the recruitment need of others. Then study how these recruitment needs align to your dream role and come up with a hit list of airlines. Prioritise them.

Research the recruiters in these airlines. Who are they? What is their personal background? What are they likely to prefer? Once you've done this, apply to them. Seek a response. If they want to interview you or engage you in correspondence, great. If not, ask why and ask what you need to do to make yourself more appealing to them.

Just some basics but I hope that helps.
