Quite a few donkey issues recently. Is it a sign that our friends at EK Engineering are stretched? 27 frames delivered this year. Not much if any increase in line maintenance staff. Go figure.

Is that why the Brits call an engine a Donk? Short for Donkey?

Finally figured it out. Amazing the stuff I learn here.

I recall a 330 had a donk fail out of Addis a couple of months back (as a result of bird strike).

Two airbus engine fails out of Lusaka (one a330 and one on the 340).

Perhaps a take off altitude restricted engine (donkey) was dispatched there by error....

We also had a GE 90 fire in Boston in August 2014.

Jammed Stab : And when we say that something "is the b....x" , we mean that it is rather good !

Just to clarify

If something is "b...x" it is really not good. If it's the "dogs b...x" then it is really very good indeed.

Yes if something is not good then it is "bollokcs".

i.e. "that's bollokcs" = That's not very good....

If something is "the dogs bollokcs" then it is something very good. This comes from the phrase "stands out like a dogs bollokcs", therefore outstanding.....

Clear as mud?
