Pilks has recently published a book called "Aerobatics in the Super Decathlon" as a Kindle eBook on Amazon. It costs about $11 and can be instantly downloaded.

Aerobatics in the Super Decathlon eBook: David Pilkington, James Morris: Amazon.com.au: Kindle Store

If you haven't used an eBook before it basically means that instead of buying a printed papered-based book, it's digital-format book in a file that is downloaded from the Amazon.com web-site. These eBooks require the "Kindle" software, which can be downloaded to PCs and phones for free.

The book itself is great because it tells what is needed to be known, without the distraction of being fluffy. A lot of the young guys doing this kind of training have a limited attention span and are not the types to read many books, so this approach should work well for them.

Most of the big integrated CPL courses use Decathlons for training in a very basic Aerobatics endorsement and this book is great because it will fill gaps in briefings and training. There are a few specialist Aerobatic flying schools with a deep pool of knowledge, but for the others this book must be required reading. It's a must-read for young instructors who teach Aerobatics.

Students doing an Aerobatics rating should read "Aerobatics in the Super Decathlon" first to get a good grounding in the area and I'm sure they will enjoy their training more after having read the book.
