I am sure this has been covered left right and centre but I have not been able to find it anywhere.

I am keen to field opinions and info' re' flying for aid agencies/ relief org's. I know most agencies seem to hire via specialist companies, but who are they? The areas I am most interested in are Africa, L America and Asia. What are the requirements?

Re' Asia, I also saw a lot of Euro pilots flying when I was recently in Cambodia. Again, can anyone shed light on this? How were they there?

I apologise for posting this on the wannabes site - although I am still at this stage.

Thanks in advance,

Look back a few months or even longer under the African forum and you will find all the info you need.

You are right, this type of work (UN, Red Cross) is contracted out to private companies and you will need to find employment with one of them. The ones I know of are Ross Air, Balmoral, and King Air Services from South Africa, Aviation Assistance from Denmark, Transafrik (Sao Tome) and Safair (also South Africa).

This type of flying is great experience but it can be hard work and the conditions are not always ideal!

Good luck
