A pilot has been injured in a light plane crash at the Gold Coast airport.

Emergency services were called about 11am after reports a light aircraft came down in bushland near the end of a runway at the Coolangatta facility.

The pilot reportedly called his wife while still in the wreck of the plane.

Seems survived - one of the lucky👍

He went in near Southport airfield, homebase I believe. Latest reports are that pilot has been cut out, injured.

Pic taken at Canungra International in better times.
