Just a quickie,

BA require 'weight in proportion to height'.

How do they define this?

They probably want your body to be well, not too slim, too fat etc.

Body Mass Index. Calculate it below.

Calculate Your BMI - Standard BMI Calculator (http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/health/educational/lose_wt/BMI/bmicalc.htm)

BMI Categories:
Underweight = <18.5
Normal weight = 18.5–24.9
Overweight = 25–29.9
Obesity = BMI of 30 or greater

It's essentially a generic term to say that if you can't fit in the chair and reach the rudder pedals at the same time then you can't fly a BA plane. :ok:

My BMI was very low but the BA Doctor didn't seem too concerned.
They're more concerned with lifestyle, the effects flying has on your body and how you can help yourself to stay fit and healthy.

Thanks for that.

I only ask because my BMI is slightly above 25 and was concerned they might have a hard number they use...

I was technically overweight after heavy feeding and a sedentary lifestyle during ground school. The BA doctor suggested I exercise more but had no major concerns.
