Another Media corker.
Lincolnshire MPs set to vote on Iraq air strikes today | Lincolnshire Echo (http://www.lincolnshireecho.co.uk/Lincolnshire-MPs-set-vote-Iraq-air-strikes/story-23003981-detail/story.html)

Lincolnshire Echo using the Air Display Variant as the backdrop to today's Commons Vote on Iraq story.

Basics. It's just 'provincial sloppiness' :ugh:

At least they got the right type of aircraft. One of our nationals used a GR4 to illustrate the first Lossie QRA flight last week.

I'd imagine that the vast majority of people in the UK have no idea that there are different types of Tornado.

Agreed that:
I'd imagine that the vast majority of people in the UK have no idea that there are different types of Tornado.

However, that should not excuse a lack of knowledge of the subject about which one writes.
Still, at least they had the right make, if not model.

But for those who can tell the difference, it makes you think, how much of what is reported is actually accurate? Especially on subjects that I know nothing about.

It's about crediability. Lincs Echo, being in the heart of RAF Lincolnshire, shouldn't find it hard to get hold of someone to check such details. :8

If the Editor of Lincolnshire Echo is a PPRUNE lurker, and they wanna save face in the future, i'm happy to verify all future articals and pictures, for an sutiable fee... Feel free to PM me... ;)

Mind you ... 43 Squadron involved in "Mud Moving" ... the very idea :}

Apparently all SDSRs have been exclusively designed to help poor journalists too busy to type "tornado bomber" into Google by ensuring the RAF only has 1 fixed wing small jet type left in service. Date tbc....

The Sun had an F3 on the front page yesterday. Are we quite sure the last few at Boscombe haven't been rolled out?

Didn't they spend some time rearranging sand dunes (along with the occasional recalcitrant tribesman standing on them) during their time in Arabia?

Indeed so.

We assume you won't be offering them your sub-editing and spell-checking services, then.

ROYAL AIR FORCE 1950 - 1967 (RAF-T 4617) (http://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/item/object/205214756)

That strikes me as eminently suitable precedent for this new campaign.

At least the Torygraph has got it right' for once on todays front page. Perhaps its employing somebody with expertise.............. ?

Torygraph has pictures of F15s for the following headline "Briatin goes to war" (I know it is subtitled with facts on F15s but it should be a picture of RAF jets in my opinion) - scroll the top photos in this link to see today's papers BBC News - The Papers (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/blogs/the_papers/)

When our very own rag (or should I say, RAF News) is consistently inaccurate with it's reporting, how can we possibly moan that the National Press is getting it wrong?

But just to jump on the bandwagon, I'm pretty sure the 14 Sqn Tonka on the front page of yesterday's Sun is obsolete too.

To the eyes of a non military person who isn't a spotter anorak, it's a jet never mind what sort!

I once heard a Spitfire described as a "fighter jet" - BBC Local Radio no less.
