Is it a requirement for the RT Practical test to be completed prior to (UK) EASA PPL Skills test?

Pls. read again, only the RT ground exam, one of 9 needs to be passed. The RT(FRTOL) practical can be taken at a later date.
However FE handbook (2014) page 16 4.3.3 states: "The examiner should also check.... FRTOL...Course completion certificate ..etc.
Re SRG 1105 , the "course" is completed when HoT signs the form re. hours flown and logbook checked, and the ground examiner signs off the 9 ground exams. I have always understood that the skill test can take place without the RT practical which can be taken later, the SRG1105 application made when both are passed.
Also as a "PS" under EASA, the test now has to take place at the course completion, ie a minima of 45hrs.(CAP 804)

There FRTOL is a UK National licence, nothing to do with EASA, and does not have to be conducted or completed prior to any skill test.

Despite there being no requirement to have passed the UK FRTOL practical, the candidate is still examined in "ATC liaison" as part of the EASA Skill Test and technically could be failed on those sections.

Whopity, thanks for that. It's nice to know the FE handbook has been thoroughly edited for the latest edition. Maybe the advice is written for examining CPL candidates, where a course completion certificate and FRTOL would be required?

There is a Course Completion Certificate for the PPL, but not the FRTOL.
