I'm not sure why you put your smoke on while flying just north of Dallington/east of Heathfield on your way back from Eastbourne on Thursday and Sunday but it was much appreciated! Friends or family in the area?

Empty the tanks prior to cleaning on the ground?

I think they do this when flying between displays, over towns etc. A bit of flag waving. You used to be able to request a fly by, if you had a suitable occasion and it was on their route.

You still can. Nothing ventured, nothing gained!

Watched their displays at Eastbourne and not too impressed. They use up so much sky and there are several gaps where nothing seems to happen. Not at all like the old days but the crowds seemed to enjoy the show. Lots of cheering and clapping as they arrived!

If you think the Reds have big gaps, go see the USAF Thunderbirds. One of the most boring team displays I have ever witnessed! They do everything fast and noisily, and take up such huge quantities of airspace - which once or twice would be impressive - but every manouver has gaping holes between while they try to relocate the airfield again!

Even many of the Yanks were walking away from the display on Friday at Oshkosh...

The Americans have always done huge displays. I'm sure the Reds are not taking a lead from them but they do pack in a lot of extra formations these days. Hardly a problem finding the display line at Eastbourne with Beachy Head at one end and Hastings at the other!:ok:

Tell you what Newt, you do it and get the gaps down anymore. I look forward to seeing that.

While I accept that the Thunderbirds had a low level display due to cloud and rain, the display was definitely underwhelming.

Love to! Just make it simple with only the singletons detached at any one time! Much less time spent joining up. A diamond nine still looks best. Of course just my opinion!:ok:
