ML Centre tonight quoting the Hobart QNH as 981, and the area 70 QNH varying between 986 and 974hpa.

Must be global warming.

It is no longer referred to as Global Warming. It is now called "Climate Change" in order to be able to tax the country whether warming up OR cooling down.

Nothing usually wrong with Launceston. Just a bit far out of town. :)

The phrase 'Global warming' is not used in the Northern hemisphere as most people in Northern latitudes would like a warmer climate!

The GST has been removed on any QNH associated with Tassie, that's why it's low:-)
At least everything weighs less down there with that such low Barro:-)

There was 60-80kts of wind when his BBJ came down the ILS (his groundspeed dropped down to 49kts at one stage coming in) and missed both times due wind shear. Strongest gust YMLT got was 58kts, the primary windsock departed the aerodrome and had aircraft having to park on the apron parallel to the runway due to the winds...a fun day was had by all!:bored:
