Is is possible to keep current while living in the US?
Or do i have to fly over to Europe once a year for my instrument and every other year for my cpl?

Johnny, you are in Fort Pierce, there is a large EASA approved ATO at that airport where you can keep yourself current no problem. No trips to Europe required.

Not only that, do it every 5 years, then you can keep doing it with the local guy. Only after 5 years from the expiry do you need to do it all over again.

i was pretty sure i could to the biannual cpl currency there, not so sure about the instrument part.
I know you cannot train EASA Instrument in the US, but i was not sure about just being current.

I need to do a proficiency check every two years
and once a year i need to do an IR re-validation flight.

My question was if i could do that in the US.

I know you cannot train EASA Instrument in the US,

Not true. Only acclimatisation training must be completed in Europe.

The ATO at Fort Pierce as his EASA Instrument rating approval for training in the USA.

Everything can be revalidated/renewed and even trained for initially in the USA.

You don't for a SEP rating you can do it by currency which is 10 hours in the final year and 1 hour with an instructor which I might add is not a check its just an hour dual.

MEP is a check ride which can be combined with a IR MEP.

The flight to do you IR renewal can be used as you 1 hour with an instructor So the IRE can sign you off on MEP, SEP (provided you have the other hours) and IR on the one SPA ME IR in a MEP.
