Just wondering if anybody knows where I could get a freeplay FMGC program so I can practice at home? Has anyone tried MS FlightSim 2002 with the Airbus Pro add on from Phoenix Simulation Software. Just wondering also if this set up (MS Flightsim & Airbus Pro Add On) makes for a good way to practice non precision approaches at home.
Cheers

Is this "Professor McDoo A320 FMC Instructor" work with windows XP?
Except the MCDU, does the screen including the other screen like PFD and ND? If not, how can I see the effect that i made on the MCDU?

Hi folks, well ProfMcDoo is a nice little tool (little means little) and nothing more. The current version of this software presents only the MCDU with the FMGC part only, so there is neither PFD or ND available.
Furthermore the functions of this software is very limited, to what is called the basic set up often refered to as DFRIPS. Only the initial preparation which will take after some practice only about 15 mins at all.
The software can't be compared with any freeplay software, like used by AI during training. ProfMcDoo is nice for the beginning but you can't train any inflight procedures. Only the part reroutes is an inflight part. But this part is very limited.

I have the Airbus Pro Software from Phoenix Simulations and use it with Flight Sim 2002.
It seems to be the best available software interactively for use at the moment that I have come across. There are some major shortcomings such as no secondary flight plan option and no clearing the flight plan till PPOS etc.
For 15 quid it is worth it !
