Interesting, but it won't happen.

The article talks about the Airline making money operating the A380, and how challenged that will be if the 777-8/9 lives up to it's promise.

What is missing is the fact that Airbus will NEVER make any money from the A380. The program has been a financial black hole for Airbus, and if it were not a politically subsidised business it would have cancelled the program probably before the first aircraft flew.

They are very unlikely to throw good money after bad on a re-engining program for the few dozen extra aircraft they might sell.

Great article, I think the Neo16 has a pretty good chance of appearing due to 330 synergies but then what do I know.
