Well done fellas. I had the opportunity to fly with the guys back in 2008. They are a great crew. They have one of the most diverse mission profiles I have seen in the many police air units I have visited.

Well done, chaps, award deserved.

During my time in the police role in UK, one crew did an ad-hoc sea rescue and not long afterwards the CAA put out a written edict threatening us all never to do it again! (I think we would all have ignored it had the need arisen).

It was rather impressive.

The video, which I have looked for but can't find showed exactly what happened.

Looking at the location, anyone know why the Police helicopter was used ?

BZ to the crew :ok:

500N, the State Police have the primary responsibility for SAR statewide and offshore.

Excellent, bloody well done! Superb job. Big seas/small boats still give me flashbacks from my Wessex SAR days, it demands top performance and that is what these guys delivered.

(I was the poor sod did the ad-hoc sea rescue UK. CAA interviewed me before issuing their edict. But they know any pilot would do the same thing again! Bless them.)

Whoate,

And well done to you, too! :ok:
The CAA stance after your incident was crass, imho.
