Hello,

I do hold a CPL(IR) and frozen ATPL with an MEP land rating.

My question now is: Can I fly every MEP A/C legally or do i need to do an open book test or A/C written test for every new MEP i want to fly?

You need differences training signed off to move between types.

Personally I would love to see what a 'frozen ATPL' looks like, is it covered in ice?

Just curious thats all, something for those with a CPL/IR and ATPL exam pass to aspire towards........ :p:p

Bose-x,

I just sent my cv off to an African operation for a C208 job. They actually wanted "Frozen ATPL with IR with 200 hours PIC on the C208". I thought to myself, it must be a European chap involved with the add as the term isn't used anywhere else....

Me too, it seems to be permafrost coming out of the schools.

Frozen ATPL; Black Ice; Pink Elephants, all myths!

The frozen ATPL (Solid) - a packaging term used in marketing circles to promote a product and thereby generate a higher price for the business now largely outmoded having now been replaced by the MPL, its successor, that has appeal for customers with less time and more money (liquid)

If the holder of a licence bought with liquid assets get affected by a cooling off in the job market, it could become a frozen ATPL.

Pink elephants do exist BTW. I saw one last night!

I believe the only difference between a f/ATPL and CPL/IR + ATPL exam credits is (other than being less of a mouthful) an MCC course. Not something you would need to fly a C208, assuming it is single pilot.
