I wonder if Peta Credlin knows that Clive's Jet is now adorned with the Australian Crest.

My understanding is that only State owned and registered aircraft can use the Australian crest.

Wouldn't you register it overseas if you didn't have to deal with CAsA?

I'm sure the Queen is arranging his head to be removed from his shoulders right now.

To the Tower with him!

You or I can't.

From the Federal regs:

3. AUTHORISED USES
3.1 General usage
The Commonwealth Coat of Arms is used by Australian Government departments and agencies, statutory and non-statutory authorities, the Parliament and Commonwealth courts and tribunals.
Senators and Federal Members of Parliament may use the Arms in the course of their duties as Parliamentarians.

Tax Avoidance 101: Establish business in tax haven (Isle of Man, Cayman Islands etc). Have that business provide a service to your Australian based businesses. Charge exorbitant fees for this service making your Australian business barely, if at all, profitable. Pay no tax in Australia and pay no tax on huge off shore profits. :ok:

P.s. This is the actual reason plain packaging was enforced on cigarettes. The cigarette brand names were based offshore and charged huge fees for the use of the logo/brand in Oz. Move the profit offshore, pay little to no tax. Clever move by the fed government to restrict the use of the brands to stop this behaviour and keep the profits in Oz.

Charge exorbitant fees for this service making your Australian business barely, if at all, profitable.

That would be transfer pricing. Prosecuting transfer pricing is a favoured sport of the ATO. You need to be far more clever than that - which either Clive or his accountants will be.

I think Clive is going to be disappointed and possibly in legal mode today after viewing that, made his motoring enthusiast look like a tool. If you were that guy you'd reasonably expect that they would cut out the bad bits. He might not be the sharpest tool and he eluded to that however he's a working class guy. I was impressed that he made Mike travel all the way to Boston, a bit of humour however I think he shafted him in return.

Give me a working-class green polly bloke, who is stumped for instant answers from a sleazy arrogant interviewer, over a smooth professional politician ready to rattle off all the evasive answers and BS under the sun, any day. :suspect: :ooh:

Never forget that some of our greatest political, and even military, leaders, were often ordinary, reluctant leadership-type blokes, who turned out outstanding men. Even had an ex-train driver as a PM, who became an outstanding leader of renown.
Who knows, one day even an ex-pilot might make it into the Big House. :E (oooh, they already have!!) :)
