Hi all,
I thought there might be some interest in these. Nothing to do with me, mind.
Among the Migs there are a few familiar shapes.

Good find and thanks for posting, sad to see the state of some of those old girls, stripped of anything useful.
Brings back memories, I was sniffing around that place in the late 90's.

Glad you liked them. They seemed to buy British until around 1960.

We were training Iraqi pilots at the No.4 FTS at RAF Worksop in 1958. When the King was overthrown they all packed their bags and left in rather a triumphant mood.

Two DH Doves, the remains of a Vampire and a piston Provost? I thought I'd seen a Bristol Freighter, but I think it was a Dove side on and nothing to scale it.

Yes I thought that, mentioned elsewhere the Vampire was in a museum, looks like it's been shoved in with a dozer, the pod is wooden so appears to have disintegrated.

Is it a Vampire or Venom?
In the link I posted earlier the intake looks more like the Venom, but I wouldn't have a clue otherwise.
I remember seeing one (or the other) at a display on Weston Super Mare sea front many years ago. I thought it was fake. Aeroplanes are made of metal.

I remember a similar place in Dhahran. T33s, Sabres, Lightnings. Even the remains of a couple of eagles and IDS Tonkas.

my father was seconded for a while from the FAA to test fly new Sea Furies from Hawkers whilst the Co. pilots were ferrying the Iraqi ones to Iraq
