And so that time is about to be upon us........

It's going to be a busy time for the next few weeks, with far fewer 'quiet' spells at DXB as the busier spells get bunched closer together due to the runway closures.

From an ATC point of view, we've been preparing for this for months but that doesn't necessarily mean that everything will flow perfectly and smoothly 100% of the times, and I'm sure there'll be a few teething issues in the first couple of days as everything settles down.

Hopefully we'll all be working together to try and make sure things go as well as possible.

Enjoy :ok:

Good luck to you all in the tower and the atc bunker as well.

Will be chatting to you (or your colleagues) over the next couple of days so promise I'll be ready immediate and all that other good stuff!:ok:

I just hope pilots show some professionalism towards air-traffic controllers

Your implication being that they don't normally? Strange comment.

Please be especially patient with the poor Departures South (121.025) controller. That is going to be one very complex bit of airspace!

Arrived at a quiet period at 1 pm, no holding and great heads up from the controllers as to their intentions.

At the gate 21 minutes early.

Well done.

Joke.

Departed 45 min late from outstation yesterday, yet landed in Dubai 20 min early. Were asked to proceed to RASKI to hold, but halfway to DARAX we were told that the hold is cancelled and to maintain high speed. This was all around 1pm.:ok:

1 a.m. arrival, initially told to expect ten minutes delay and holding at Bubin, as we just commence the outbound turn, hold is cancelled and we are given headings to fly, then back to Bubin for the arrival. At Vuton left turn for right base. Touch down 20 minutes ahead of sched. Really impressed and pleasantly surprised by how efficient and expeditious the ATC was. Expected some crazy holding at that time of the morning.

Then, DWC must be extremely busy :bored:

Or, if they realized that they have cancelled too many flights...:ugh:

Next thing we'll read is this:

FCI: WIE all extra crew summer leave cancelled and all crew to proceed back to DXB. We have over-reduced our schedule and need all hands on deck to fly during DXB runway closure!!

They should close it more often. Peak time arrival no holding quick taxi and home 75 mins after setting the brake. Result.

How is DWC working out for EK cargo, FDB and those others that have moved?
