Greetings! I hope someone can help me sort this one out:

-I am an Icao license holder with more than 1000 hr multi crew/jet
-No Usa Visa ( for the moment ) so sim training limited to any other country than Usa
-I intend to do an initial type rating on a Embraer Legacy600 in a simulator in Switzerland that is only JAA approved

The Swiss training facility told us they will accept to train me if my country CAA sends an authorization letter approving the training, is this possible?
can an a JAA non Icao approved sim be valid in Venezuela and the type rating be stamped in my Icao license ( not a single Emb Venezuelan registered, and not a single check airman EMB145 rated ) so that later with the EMB145 type stamped in my ICAO license, Aruban authorities can validate my license.

If anyone's been in a similar situation please help us out

Hi Jose24

An JAA/EASA member state may well be an ICAO member (i.e. Switzerland). Two questions have to be asked in your case:

- Does your license issuing authority accept training conducted by SAT in Switzerland for your Type rating endorsement?

- Does Aruba issue a validation based on your venezuelan license?

If you can answer both questions with yes, go ahead. If not, a detour via a FAA license might be advisable.

Good luck,
